Ballooning and micro light aviation also receive our attention with coverage of experimental and homebuilt aviation. We often attend Oshkosh EAA or Airventure where we bring you experimental projects such as the Lancair, Rand Robinson, Bush Baby, ultra-lights, sailplanes, parachuting, gyrocopters, seaplanes, space ship one, airport information, aerospace developments, air traffic control matters, weather matters and the list continues. Articles and images also handle matters such as air to air and air to ground weapons, laser guided bombs, survival aids and matters which relate to cabin attendants, pilots, navigators, flight engineers while also looking into missiles and their capabilities related to aero planes or for some aircraft. As long as it is flying, sailing in the sky or ballooning we do our best to cover it. Furthermore, Aviation Dimension tries to promote South African Aviation by working together with the likes of African Pilot Magazine (serious about flying), SA Flyer Magazine, World Airnews and at the same time we are approaching the likes of Air Forces Monthly, Air International, Flight International, Flying, Aviation Weekly, Professional Pilot, Sport Pilot and other mags in order to improve aviation awareness world-wide. Our working together with Siyandiza and Vulindlela as well as the Royal Air Cadet Organization ensures that we remain in a position to ensure that aviation development and growth receives the fullest attention offering air forces such as the South African Air Force and hopefully in the future the likes of the US Air Force, the Russian Air Force, the Royal Air Force and other world Air Forces the opportunity to contact potential candidates through offering recruitment information. Future plans include our hoping to cover matters from elite sites such as NASA, the ESA (European Space Agency), Zukhovsky Test Centre, Star City (Russian Space Agency), Empire Test School and others such as the US Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB and the Navy School at Patuxent River, Epner, Denel, Armscor and more. The shop section now also sports a wide variety of ASA and many other aviation products. Garmin, Telex, David Clark, Softcom, Avcomm are just some of the names of the carried products. Aviation Shops and Pilot Shops are also offered for hosting to companies wanting to sell their goods on the web. The e-commerce section through Iveri is a secure connection which allows you to use your credit card and mail order capabilities safely and discreetly. Classifieds allow for submission, removal and browsing of any products offered for sale and are free to view. Soaring with Eagles has now established itself as a leading book and is available in the shop. You will also find the Capital Sounds page sporting Brian Emmenis and his Team, the voice of Airshows who as attended shows such as Farnborough, RIAT, AAD (Africa Defense and Aerospace), Oshkosh and many more. South African Airlines in Short

South African Airways

South African Airways, SA’s flag carrier in the airline industry today serves more than 700 destinations throughout the world through their own and other shared networks. This means a total of 6.5 million passengers on a yearly basis with 34 cities in 26 countries being reached.

The airline is based at Johannesburg International Airport, in turn managed by ACSA (Airports Company of SA) with air traffic services being rendered by ATNS and weather services by the SA Weather Service.

SA's largest operator, South African Airways or SAA boasts a modern fleet of aircraft, namely A319-100, A340-200, A340-300e, A340-600, Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 737-800.

Nationwide Airlines

Nationwide Airlines or just Nationwide, commenced its services in 1995 and has grown to be one of the biggest domestic airlines in South Africa. Based at Johannesburg International Airport, Nationwide operates a fleet of Boeing 727 and Boeing 737 aircraft on both domestic and regional routes.

BA Comair

South Africa In 1946 Commercial Air Services began its operation by flying charters from the Germiston based Rand Airport between the later and Durban. Started by three South African Air Force Pilots, Comair grew to become SA's longest operating airline after SAA. Today in collaboration as a franchisee with British Airways or BA, Comair serves South Africa as one of the leading domestic carriers.

Based at Johannesburg International Airport, they operate a fleet of Boeing 737-200, 300 and 400 aircraft.

Kulula.com

SA's first true no-fuss no frills airline, kulula.com is the product of Comair and BA initiative with the eye on making travel more affordable and far less complicated. Serving the domestic network with a fleet of 4 x MD82 aircraft, kulula.com is based at Johannesburg International Airport.

1time.co.za

Entirely internet based, 1time.co.za offers low-cost flights throughout South Africa, based primarily at Johannesburg International Airport and Cape Town International Airport the airline has been operating successfully since their launch on Wed, 25 February 2004. Today the airline offers a total domestic service flying a fleet of DC-9 and MD-82 aircraft.

SA Express

Having commenced operations in April 1994, South African Express Airways today transports over 85000 passengers per month to various domestic and regional destinations including neighbouring countries and further such as Namibia, Botswana and the DRC. SA Express is based at Johannesburg International Airport and operates a fleet of Canadair Regional Jet Series 200 BER, locally known as the Express Jet and the De Havilland Dash 8 Series 300 turboprop.

SA Airlink

SA Airlink or South African Air Link offers the full domestic route spectrum inclusive of the smaller routes in the country such as Mala Mala and Margate operating a fleet of Embraer ERJ-135 and Jetstream 41 aircraft from Johannesburg International Airport.
